I always look for ways to have a more sustainable lifestyle, from our household to my workday. It is important to me to make eco-friendly choices that reduce my carbon footprint. One of the things that we try to be more sustainable is to eliminate single use plastics, and one of the products we have enjoyed using lately is CornNext straws.

CornNext straws are made with biodegradable corn materials, and they naturally degrade.
These come in a variety of flavors, as well as a plain straw. I like the subtle flavor I get from the straws, but you could mix and match the flavors with different drinks.

No one in our household is a fan of paper straws, and this is a great alternative.

I keep a pack of these in the car so that we can avoid paper. These are conveniently wrapped, making it easy to travel with them. Sometimes we use stainless straws, but those can be a hassle with for traveling when it is not easy to clean them on the go.

We put these straws in our compost when we are done with them. It is nice to know that they won’t end up in a landfill or polluting the environment.

Here are some of the great benefits of these straws (from the CornNext website):
- Break down in as little as 30 days leaving behind zero microplastics.
- Are crafted from one of America’s most abundant and renewable crops.
- Deliver durability plus a surprising twist: natural fruit flavors (orange, strawberry, lemon, lime, blueberry, or unflavored) that pair perfectly with sparkling water, cocktails, or everyday drinks.
- Carry a negative carbon footprint, a rare achievement in consumer goods.

These straws sound like a great way to reduce waste while also adding a bit of flavor to our drinks! It would probably be a nice way to get kids (& adults) to drink more water, too.
I’ll have to get these straws. I’d feel better about using them. I like that they break down.
What a great idea for straws. I love that they made straws that are made from natural ingredients.
The corn next straws sound great for the environment. I will have to get some soon!
These straws sound like a great idea for anyone wanting to use straws. We stopped with the plastic ones years ago and didn’t see alternatives in stores so haven’t bought any. The kids did love to use them so these would be a great alternative.
These CornNext straws sound amazing. It is eco-friendly and practical. Every small change makes a big difference!
I will have to chekc these out as I absolutely hate the paper straws. They are horrible and it’s like drinking out of a paper cup that has been sitting too long. These are cool and I am for sure grabbing a few boxes 🙂

I hadn’t heard of these straws, they certainly sound interesting with their subtle flavours. Always great to use biodegradable products.
This is one of those little swaps that can make a huge difference. I have reusable straws so rarely ever get straws when I’m out and it’ something that was an easy swap for me x
I will have to check into these and this actually would make a great gift for a friend of mine.
Flavoured straws! Wow….I love love love the idea. I will try to order me some, super cool idea.
Oh, fun! I think it’s so neat that they’re flavored, and I love that they don’t harm the environment.

These CornNext straws sound like such a smart and tasty way to stay eco-friendly! I love that they’re compostable and come in fun flavors too.
Paper straws usually turn into a soggy mess so quickly but these flavored corn versions actually work well.
Ohh a new type of straw! I think it is so interesting that they’ve come up with so many eco-friendly straws.
I started using these types of straws a few years ago and honestly we have never looked back
