Homemade Balsamic Vinaigrette

Making balsamic vinaigrette at home is quick and easy.  I like to make my own since I can decide how much I need and make it fresh whenever I want, since we always have balsamic vinegar and olive oil.  Here’s how to make it.

The general rule for making a balsamic vinaigrette is 1 part balsamic to 3 parts oil.

Ingredients

Balsamic vinegar

Olive oil (choose a good quality oil – I like Graza)

Salt & pepper, to taste

Directions

I do not measure the ingredients – I just eye it.  I usually make this in a small measuring cup or small jar so I can pour it right on the salad.

Once you have a ratio of oil and vinegar, I sprinkle in salt and some pepper.

Whisk or shake your mixture.  It will stay together for a little while and separate out over time. I use a mini whisk or milk frother, or sometimes a fork.
