Iced Matcha Latte Recipe

Matcha has become increasingly popular over the years.  We learned quickly that it is easy to make at home, and a good matcha set makes for a lovely gift. With a few simple ingredients and a couple tools, you can put together your own matcha lattes. Here is how we make these tasty drinks at home!

Ingredients

  • 1–2 teaspoons matcha powder (look for good quality matcha)
  • 2 tablespoons hot water
  • ¾–1 cup milk (oat, almond, soy, or whole milk)
  • 1–2 teaspoons sweetener (honey, maple syrup, etc)
  • Ice

Also needed: frother or bamboo whisk, large glass, stainless straw.

Directions

Whisk the matcha with hot water. Use a bamboo whisk or electric frother to make sure that the matcha is fully dissolved.

You can also mix in your sweetener and whisk, until there is a light layer of foam.

Fill your glass with ice cubes.

Pour the milk over the ice.

Gently pour the matcha mixture into the glass. You can leave this layered, for effect, or combine with a spoon or stainless straw.

You can top with whipped cream for fun.
