Time is precious! Do you ever feel like you just don’t have enough time in the day? Even small changes can make your time more efficient.
These are some of the ways that I have used to organize my time and make my days more efficient and to save time.
Keep track of time
Keep track of your time, and try to cut down and eliminate wasted time. This could be something like talking on the phone or scrolling through TikTok. Be aware of time, set a timer, set a limit on your phone for apps, and so on. It is so easy to sit down to watch a few videos or scroll through Facebook, and next thing you know, 30 minutes have gone by.
Eliminate distractions
Distractions can bring your productivity way down. If you work from home, distractions can include anything from pets to kids to things around the home. Try to create a work environment that reduces lost time due to distractions.
Don’t overschedule
I am a big fan of not overscheduling my days. Sometimes you just have to take a step back and pare down on your commitments, and don’t feel obliged to do things. Say no to extras that create an added element of stress to your day. So many times, we take on too much, and we do not have enough time in the day as it is.
Stop multitasking & prioritize
Although multitasking can seem like a badge of honor that you can juggle multiple things at once, it cuts down on productivity and focus. Delegate a time for a task so that you can complete it. Multitasking often means room for mistakes and may lower the quality of your work.
If you are overwhelmed by what needs to get done, start with the highest priority tasks and then work your way down the list. It can be more efficient to complete tasks, versus multitasking.
Get organized and use tools
Find tools that can help you stay on track with your time, such as calendars, checklists, planners, organizers, timers, alarms, device limits, etc. You can also work to schedule out your day in blocks so that it makes it easier to stay on schedule with tasks.
Use tools that can help do tasks for you. For example, shop for groceries online. Use Amazon Subscribe & Save to get necessities delivered regularly. Shop online, to save yourself the hassle of running to the store. Every time you eliminate an errand, you save yourself time and effort that can be spent elsewhere.
