Fall is a good time to think about establishing a self care routine. For most moms, this is a busy time of year getting the kids into a back to school routine, juggling activities, and much more. And with major holidays to prepare for as well, many of us feel stressed and overwhelmed. We should all be taking some time for ourselves, for our health and wellness. Here are some tips.
Create a Better Morning Routine
Mornings can be chaotic, getting the kids out of bed and out the door to school. Find ways to make the morning calmer. Waking up early and taking some time to yourself to sip your coffee, read, do a crossword – these are all little ways that are a good start to the day.
Enjoy Outdoor Activities
Fall is a great time to enjoy outdoor activities and to take advantage of nice weather before winter. Get outside, even if it is for a 15 minute walk on a sunny day. Take in the fall foliage and the sunshine.
Refresh Your Skincare Routine
As the seasons change, the dry weather can take a toll on your skin. Change up your skincare routine to include more moisturizers.
Stay Hydrated and Healthy
Make it a priority to keep on top of hydration. Look for healthy foods and recipes. Fall and winter can be a time when we enjoy a lot of food including sweets, so it is good to find a balance.
Schedule Time for Yourself
Make time for yourself, whether you read for 20 minutes a night or you meet up with a friend at a coffee shop on Saturday mornings. These are parts of our lives that should not be neglected.
Embrace Fall Coziness
Whether or not you enjoy the season, there are many ways to enjoy Fall. Make fall foods, like soups, pasta, mac and cheese, and more. Find fruits and veggies that are in season, like squash or kale. Use fall essential oils to make your home smell cozy, or use a fall simmer pot.
Practice Gratitude
Practicing gratitude has many benefits, and contributes to a better well being.
